Sheriff Cooper says fentanyl seizures primarily come from new arrestees and inmates turning themselves in for weekend sentences.

Sheriff Cooper spoke at the jail to a group of journalists Thursday about changes he said they’ve made in recent weeks to decrease the amount of drugs coming into the jail.

The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office is working to combat drug smuggling after confirming three inmates died from overdoses this year.
